I can't believe how much I had forgotten about the 6 episodes I've seen the last 2 days. I could remember bits and pieces, but couldn't place them. Even the titles didn't really mean anything to me.
Zero Sum proves that smoking kills; it attracts killer bees ;-)
Skinner is obviously up to no good at the beginning of the episode, clearing out evidence, pretending to be Mulder. He's welcome to come and clean my house anytime though, looks like he's really good at it. It's a Scully-less episode, the second one if I remember correctly (another one coming up this evening). And it's becoming a bit of a tradition, Mulder points a gun at Skinner again. Then Skinner points a gun at the Smoking Man. So there's a lot of gun pointing, with very little shooting. In the end Skinner once again proves how much he cares for Mulder and Scully, I mean he really is going to extreme lengths to save Scully. Oh and Marita Covarubias (something like that) turns out to be working for the Consortium. Not really a big surprise... It did make me wonder why Scully never has any hidden, dark sources. Maybe she's just not as gullible as Mulder ;-)
In Elegy it finally becomes obvious that Scully is affected by her cancer.
Scully has another nosebleed and tells Mulder she's fine (no surprises there).
The music during the scene where the nurse attacks Scully reminded a lot of Psycho.
Mulder: "What is that look Scully?"
Scully: "I would have thought that after four years you'd know exactly what that look was."
Mulder: "What? You don't believe in ghosts?"
Scully: "The doctor said I was fine."
Mulder: "I hope that's the truth."
Mulder: "Why can't you be honest with me?"
Scully: "What do you want me to say? That you're right? That I believe it even if I don't? I mean is that what you want?"
Mulder: "Is that what you think I want to hear?"
Scully: "No."
Mulder: "You can believe what you want to believe, Scully, but you can't hide the truth from me. Because, if you do, then you're working against me... and yourself. I know what you're afraid of... I'm afraid of the same thing."
Scully gets a disturbing wake-up call from Mulder in Demons. After he lets a doctor drill a hole in his head (smart move Mulder), he pulls a gun on Scully.
Scully: "Mulder, I'm going to get you out of here."
Mulder: "You're a doctor, not a lawyer, Scully."
Scully: "Are you going to shoot me, Mulder? Is that how much this means to you? Mulder, listen to me. You have been given a powerful hallucinogen. You don't know that these memories are yours. This is not the way to the truth, Mulder. You've got to trust me."
Gethsemane is the last episode of season 4 of the x-files. The mytharc continues in the 5th season with Redux and Redux II.
It all starts when Mulder calls (a dying) Scully away from a dinner with her family to look at, drumroll please, pictures of an alien?!? Very considerate of you Mulder...no wonder Bill Scully has it in for him. While Mulder goes on a snowy (and bloody) camping trip to recover the alien, Scully's pushed down the stairs. And apparently that pisses her off, cause I really wouldn't have wanted to be in Kritschgau's shoes.
Mulder finds out he was lied to yet again. But he puts his suicidal tendencies aside when he discovers he's being watched. Scully sounds really pissed when she discovers Mulder's hiding in her bedroom in the dark when she's about to undress (apart from forgetting to shave your legs I can't think of a reason to be pissed when Mulder is waiting in your bedroom). Anyway, he convinces Scully to lie to the FBI while he goes looking for a cure for her cancer in the Pentagon.
Scully's health is fading fast and she ends up in hospital. A few very emotional M&S conversations later (X-files shippers beware), Mulder finds the cure thanks to the Smoking Man (is even offered to join the Syndicate), meets his sister who thinks CSM is her father, accuses Section Chief Blevins who ends up dead, Smokey gets shot and Scully's cancer goes into remission. As an X-files shipper I really wish they had included a scene where Mulder finds out Scully's getting better (oh well, there's always fanfic).
Mulder: "You think it's foolish?"
Scully: "I have no opinion actually."
Mulder: "You have no opinion?"
Scully: "This is your holy grail, Mulder. Not mine."
Mulder: "What is that supposed to mean?"
Scully: "It just means proving to the world the existence of alien life is not my last dying wish."
Mulder: "How about Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny?"
Mulder: "After all I've seen and experienced, I refuse to believe that it's not true?"
Scully: "Because it's easier to believe the lie, isn't it?"
Mulder: "What the hell did that guy say to you that you'd believe his story?"
Scully: "He said that the men behind this hoax, behind these lies, gave me this disease to make you believe."
Mulder: "Keep going FBI woman."
Scully: "Mulder? What are you doing? Why are you sitting in my bedroom in the dark?"
Mulder: "It was too crowded in my apartment, I couldn't sleep."
Scully: "I'm not kidding, Mulder."
Michael Kritschgau: "The body you found was so good, so believable, that only a directed scientific examination would have proven the fraud."
Mulder: "Scully would have known."
Michael Kritschgau: "The timing of the hoax was planned so that Agent Scully wouldn't be alive to do an examination."
Skinner: "You're moving pretty good for a dead man."
Mulder: "I'm only half dead."
Scully: "Did you find out who in the FBI is involved?"
Mulder: "No. But that doesn't matter now."
Scully: "Yes it does."
Mulder: "Hey Scully, how about those Yankees, huh?"
